Barcelona Transfer News: Neymar, PSG Contract Details Reported, Latest Rumours
Paris Saint-Germain reportedly offered Barcelona star Neymar a private jet and a stake in a chain of hotels, as well as £34 million per year, in their attempts to persuade him to join them in the summer.
Per ESPN Brazil (via Matt Heath-Smith of the Sun), Neymar's agent, Wagner Ribeiro, revealed the Brazilian star met with PSG owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi to discuss a potential £160 million move to the Parc des Princes.
"We held two hours of talks, and Neymar was impressed," Ribeiro said. "Nasser [Al-Khelaifi] told him they had no tax issues and he would be the team’s main man, which is not the case at Barcelona. I told Neymar that it was an unbelievable offer...there would have been no other footballer earning as much as him."

However, the 24-year-old Neymar opted to stay at Barcelona and signed a new contract, tying him to the club until 2021.
Heath-Smith cited reports in Spain indicating Neymar initially met Al-Khelaifi in Ibiza and then Sao Paulo, with the PSG chief prepared to meet "any cost" to snag the superstar forward.

A private jet was reportedly included in the offer, while Neymar would also have had a string of soon-to-be-built hotels named after him.
His new deal with Barcelona includes a mammoth release clause, which currently stands at €200 million (£170.3 million), and it will rise to €222 million (£189 million) for the second season of the contract and €250 million (£212.9 million) for the final three, per the club (via the Guardian).
Even at those prices, Neymar is still not out of reach for financial giants PSG, but it seems clear that even a club with as much to offer as the French champions could not lure Neymar away from the Camp Nou just now.
While the Olympic gold medallist would have succeeded Zlatan Ibrahimovic as the undisputed star man at the Parc des Princes, he would not have better prospects than he does with the Blaugrana.
Though he sometimes operates in the shadows of Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez at Barca, he is part of the most fearsome attacking trio in the world and plays for arguably the best club team on the planet.
If ever proof were needed that he is at the right club, Neymar's stunning performance for Barca in the UEFA Champions League against Celtic on Tuesday provided it, per DW Sports:
Not withstanding the luxurious extras, Neymar's reported potential tax-free wages at PSG of £650,000 a week would have been almost as much as his current salary combined with that of Suarez's and Messi's at Barca, per football writer Miguel Delaney:
If that was not enough to tempt him away, surely nothing will, and Ribeiro explained Neymar is attached to his current club, per ESPN Brazil (via Heath-Smith): "Neymar considered the offer. But he chose to stay because he wants to be in Barcelona. He is happy at the club and in the city. I wanted him to go to PSG, but his dad pushed for him to stay."
Losing Neymar would have been a big blow for Barca, but the Camp Nou chiefs can now surely rest easy he is not going anywhere after he turned down such reported riches from PSG.
