Markus Wheaton Injury: Updates on Steelers WR's Shoulder and Return

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Markus Wheaton hadn't played since suffering a shoulder injury that caused him to miss Week 6 against the Miami Dolphins.

On Nov. 19, the Steelers placed Wheaton on the injured reserve list.

Wheaton's Roster Replacement Revealed

The Steelers announced that Wheaton and DE Cameron Heyward were placed on IR, while LB Bud Dupree and RB Daryl Richardson were activated.

Wheaton's Ends 2016 Season on Disappointing Note

Wheaton has already battled injuries this season, including missing the first two games against Washington and Cincinnati with a shoulder injury suffered during the preseason.

The Steelers entered 2016 short-handed at wide receiver with Martavis Bryant suspended for the entire season but have arguably the NFL's best player at the position in Antonio Brown, which allows them to get away with a lot of things.
