New England Patriots vs. Arizona Cardinals: Live Score, Highlights and Analysis
The New England Patriots go to the desert and defeat the Arizona Cardinals to open their season and finish off a wild opening Sunday in the NFL. Cardinals kicker Chandler Catanzaro missed a potential game-winning field goal in the final minute after a bad snap.
Despite no injured Rob Gronkowski (and no suspended Tom Brady), the Patriots were able to beat one of the NFL's best behind Jimmy Garoppolo. The third-year quarterback, in his first career start, completed 24 of his 33 pass attempts for 264 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions. Julian Edelman caught seven of those balls, including a flurry early to get the Pats in a rhythm.

Larry Fitzgerald had two touchdown receptions in a losing effort. They were Nos. 99 and 100 of his career, to move into ninth on the all-time receiving touchdowns list. Chandler Jones had a huge game defensively against his former team, with a sack and a fumble recovery, but it wasn't enough.
