Djokovic vs. Wawrinka: Score, Highlights from US Open Men's Final 2016

Third-seeded Stan Wawrinka defeated top-ranked Novak Djokovic in the 2016 U.S. Open championship on Sunday in New York.

Djokovic—the defending championwon the first set 7-6(1), but Wawrinka responded with three straight (6-4, 7-5, 6-3) to claim his third Grand Slam title. Wawrinka adds the U.S. Open crown to his Australian and French Open victories.

Though Wawrinka started slowly, once the Swiss star's trademark backhand became effective, he could hardly be stopped. Wawrinka took a commanding 3-0 edge in the fourth set and held off Djokovic's desperation charge.
