Raiders QB Derek Carr Goes All-Out, Jumps over Saints Defender for 1st Down

Everybody knows Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr can move the chains with his arm.

As football fans—and a New Orleans Saints defender—learned Sunday, he can also get first downs with his legs. And in spectacular fashion.

On 3rd-and-9 from the Oakland 26-yard line early in the second quarter, Carr took off with the football after he couldn't find an open receiver. The third-year quarterback encountered the Saints' De'Vante Harris at the first-down line—so he showed off his athleticism by going up and over.

The Raiders have to love the effort, but they probably don't want their franchise quarterback putting himself in harm's way like that too often.
