Refs Hilariously Give Mixed Signals on Field-Goal Attempt in Browns-Eagles Game
The preseason is a time for everyone—players, coaches, referees and fans—to get back into the swing of football season.
Apparently the referees in Sunday's Week 1 game between the Cleveland Browns and Philadelphia Eagles could have used a little more time to prepare for the regular season.
With less than a minute to play in the first quarter, Philadelphia kicker Caleb Sturgis attempted a 46-yard field goal. When it came time for the scoreboard operator to decide whether or not to put points on the board, there was some confusion...because the referees under the uprights were giving mixed signals.

Ultimately, they determined the kick was no good. Even with the missed field goal, though, the Eagles held a 7-0 lead over the Browns after the first quarter.
