NFL Players Pay Tribute with USA-Themed Cleats on 9/11 Anniversary
Sunday marks the 15th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, and as the NFL opens the 2016 regular season in full, several players are using their games as a platform to reflect and honor the victims of that day.
New York Giants receivers Odell Beckham Jr. and Victor Cruz will pay tribute with customized cleats for both pregame warm-ups and their contest against the Dallas Cowboys. They are not alone:

Tennessee Titans linebacker Avery Williamson also planned to wear special cleats, but the NFL was reportedly going to fine him if he did.
The league is very particular about what players can and cannot wear. Given the significance of the day, hopefully it will do the right thing and allow players to pay tribute in whatever way they choose.
