Chicago Bears vs. Houston Texans: Live Score, Highlights and Analysis

Chris RolingSep 11, 2016

The Chicago Bears came up short against the Houston Texans Sunday at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas, 23-14.

Coming off a 6-10 season and moving on from names such as Matt Forte, Chicago had its first major test right out of the gates against what is another strong J.J. Watt-led defense and looked good to start.

To start. The Bears cruised to a 7-0 advantage after one frame, a lead Jay Cutler and the offense held, hitting halftime with ahead 14-10.

The wheels fell off from there. After holding Watt and the Houston defense in check, the Chicago offensive line collapsed in the second half, the unit totaling 71 yards in the third and fourth quarters and never crossing midfield.

On the opposite side of the football, Chicago's injured secondary started to cough up big plays to Houston rookie wideout Will Fuller and DeAndre Hopkins.

Call it growing pains for a team with a re-tooled offensive line and a defense still gaining chemistry.
