Let's give Belichick, I mean Mangini a Chance.
Hey, fellow Kool-Aid drinkers. I don’t know about you but so far this season I am keeping Jim Beam and Maalox in business.
On the field the Browns seem to be regressing, the defense is worse and Brady Quinn played a whole 10 quarters before being pulled for a guy who promptly went out and threw three picks and no TD’s. Speaking of which, it has been so long since I saw the Browns make a meaningful touchdown that I am beginning to believe that a Cleveland TD is like the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. It is always somewhere you are not. But, enough of this back to the topic at hand.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
We are three lousy (and I do mean lousy games into the season) and there are people already calling for Randy Learner to sell the team and for Mangini’s head on a platter. RL is a very hands off owner. Who would you folks rather have, Dan Snyder or Jerry Jones perhaps?
Randy does have deep pockets, he is willing to spend. Also, regardless of whether he earned it or he came into his money the old fashion way, he inherited it, he still has to have a billionaire’s ego. Having a laughing stock of a team has to be an embarrassment for him.
Who knows Mangini may have warned him from the beginning that things would be ugly at first that this may take a season to start. Maybe, RL has not made any comments because this what he expected the first year and he is smart enough to realize that he will be a lightning rod no matter what he says? So how about knocking off the sell the team stuff and give it one more painful season. After all, if it were me I wouldn’t sell just to be able to say I told you so when the Browns turn this around. And, yes they will eventually turn it around.
As to Mangini’s head, come on people for the love of Pete. For those of you who don’t remember. Browns fan and the Cleveland media were also screaming Belichick’s head.
Give Mangini time. If Belichick had left the Pats to return to the Browns I suspect that many of you posters would be lauding his strict policies and his close to the vest manner. After camp Crennel most Browns fans were screaming for a disciplinarian. It is to be expected that some players will grumble at the discipline. Note to players you are making stupid amounts of money, deal with it. Mangini came to town with the plan to develop a disciplined, intelligent physical team. Not to be liked and loved by his players ( for those results please see Romeo Crennel) by the way, how many players do you think genuinely liked Belichick, Parcells or any other tough nosed coach. Once they start to win the players appreciate what the strict coach has done for them and their team. But, let’s not throw the baby out with the bath water here.
Mangini is smart he has a plan and is implementing it. Let’s give him and his plan at least a season before we start sharpening the guillotine.
