Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton received criticism for walking out of his postgame press conference after the Panthers lost Super Bowl 50 to the Denver Broncos this past February.

Newton responded to those critics in a Players' Tribune video before Thursday's regular-season opener involving the Panthers and Broncos.

"You just live and learn," Newton offered to those who spoke out against him. "I'm not perfect. I've said that numerous times, and I will continue to say that."

He also talked about the bond he has with his Carolina teammates and the squad's goals for this season.
