WWE2K17: Latest News, Rumors and Buzz for Week of Sept. 5

As the release date for WWE 2K17 nears, the news releases and roster revelations come hotter and heavier than ever before.

This past week, fans got a look at the entire field of Superstars for this year's game. Those men and women make up one of the most expansive rosters in the history of wrestling gaming and will be a large selling point for the staple.

Who joined John Cena, Sasha Banks and The Ultimate Warrior, among others, on the list of Superstars fans will be able to control come October?

The Empress Arrives

One of the numerous fresh faces included in this year's production is the current NXT women's champion Asuka. In her first appearance in an official WWE game, her arrival took center stage in this week's promotion.

WWE 2K17 posted a video of her ring entrance on YouTube, giving fans a taste of what they can come to expect from the current titleholder.

Featuring her trademark mask and robe, it is true to the captivating entrance fans of NXT have become all-too-familiar with since the Japanese competitor's debut last year.

Raw Attitude

Some of the Superstars joining today's current crop of performers include those who made their greatest impact in the acclaimed Attitude Era.

The greatest of that crop, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, officially had his name thrown into the mix this week. The cover star of last year's excellent offering, his presence in 2K17 should be of no great surprise to anyone.

Former tag team specialist "Road Dogg" Jesse James joined the roster, as did the great Vader, whose recent Hall of Fame induction speech for Stan Hansen was among one of the ceremony's many highlights.

Goldust joined father Dusty Rhodes on the roster, strengthening the legends portion of the roster.

One of the most fun elements of any WWE game is the sheer amount of dream matches that can be created using the Superstars of yesterday. With Austin, James, Vader, Ultimate Warrior, Brian Pillman and countless others, fans can play match booker, putting together some of the most exciting bouts imaginable.

Goldberg Invades Fan Expo Canada

As Goldberg stands front and center in all WWE 2K17 promotion, he traveled to the Great White North for Fan Expo Canada.

While there, he partook in a sparring session with some of former Superstar Santino Marella's Battle Arts Academy students.

WWE 2K17's official Twitter account provided fans with a look at Da Man in action.

Afterward, he posed for a shot with Marella and the students.

As the face of this year's game, Goldberg has done a phenomenal job of keeping the brand in the spotlight and creating intrigue for both the game and his future in the industry with his many promotional appearances.
