Liverpool Transfer News: Latest on Mahmoud Dahoud and Christian Pulisic Rumours
Liverpool will reportedly revive their interest in Borussia Monchengladbach’s Mahmoud Dahoud and Borussia Dortmund’s Christian Pulisic in the future having missed out on both in the summer transfer window.
Reds fans hoping to see the club make a late foray into the market were disappointed on Wednesday, as no deals were done on deadline day. According to James Pearce of the Liverpool Echo, however, both of the aforementioned Bundesliga players will remain on the club’s radar.
“Jurgen Klopp was hoping to bring both players to Anfield this summer but completing those deals proved problematic with their clubs currently unwilling to sell,” it was noted. “… However, Liverpool will continue to monitor their progress closely and retain hope that they will become Liverpool players in future.”

It’s noted that January deals are looking unlikely, with Liverpool set to revisit both youngsters in the summer of 2017.
Pearce suggested Gladbach were unwilling to move Dahoud, reportedly valued at £25 million, after they sold Granit Xhaka to Arsenal.
The 20-year-old rose to prominence last term with some outstanding displays in the Bundesliga and is expected to take on more responsibility this season following Xhaka’s sale. Here’s a glimpse at what he can offer:
Dahoud will tick plenty of boxes for Klopp. The youngster is combative in the middle of the park, able to break up play with his athletic challenges and win the ball back in physical battles. The Germany under-21 international also possesses a composure and elegance on the ball in the final third.
While he didn’t start Monchengladbach’s opening game of the season in the Bundesliga, Dahoud made a major impression off the bench, per BT Sport’s Archie Rhind-Tutt:
The Reds also missed out on Pulisic, who, like Dahoud, made his name last season with some eye-catching performances in the Bundesliga.
Pearce noted Liverpool had a bid of £11 million rejected for the 17-year-old, who already has six caps and one goal for the United States men's national team.
While he’s not expected to feature in the first team regularly under BVB boss Thomas Tuchel, Pulisic showed at times last term he can make an impression at the highest level.

Given his age and that he’s at such an early point in his development, making a big-money move this summer would have potentially been premature for Pulisic. FCB Media's Cristian Nyari is unsure whether the player would be keen anyway:
It makes sense for Klopp to target these types of players. Both Dahoud and Pulisic have so much natural talent to be harnessed. The German coach will feel as though both players can become a force at Anfield under his guidance.
However, both still have plenty to learn and a lot of developing to do. Pulisic, in particular, is pretty new to elite-level football. A loan may have been suitable for him, although making a significant switch may have been too much too soon for one of the most exciting youngsters in the game.
