Osa Masina, Don Hill Under Investigation for Allegedly Drugging, Raping Woman
USC Trojans linebacker Osa Masina is reportedly being investigated for drugging and raping a woman on two separate occasions in July.
According to TMZ Sports, Masina is alleged to have first raped the woman at the apartment of linebacker Don Hill on July 14 after giving her "a couple Xanax pills throughout the day" while she was drinking.
Masina is also alleged to have raped the woman July 26 after smoking marijuana and drinking alcohol in Utah—where he is under investigation for sexual assault, according to the Los Angeles Times' Zach Helfand.
Masina was reportedly served a search warrant on USC's campus, per Helfand, but he has not been formally charged.
Hill was sent home from the team's trip to Dallas on Friday because of a "violation of team rules," according to Kyle Bonagura of ESPN.com, who added he has been alleged to have committed sexual assault on July 15. TMZ reported USC's decision to send Hill home was due to the rape investigation.
According to TMZ, the woman said she was "out of it" after Masina gave her the Xanax, while the search warrant stated, "The next thing the victim recalls is having sex with Osa Chad Masina."
Furthermore, TMZ reported Masina, 19, is alleged to have taken photos and videos of the alleged sexual encounter and sent them to her ex-boyfriend via Snapchat.
The woman also said Hill participated in the encounter.
Masina is suspended for the Trojans' season opener Saturday night against the Alabama Crimson Tide for a violation of team rules, per Helfand, but head coach Clay Helton did not clarify what the violation is. Hill has not been suspended.
When asked about possible discipline beyond Saturday's contest, Helton declined to get into specifics.
"Really, as a coach, you’re taken out of it," he said, per Helfand. "This is a university matter and a university policy, and I’m confident in the guidance of the university here, so they’ll let me know."
