Chelsea Transfer News: Latest David Luiz Return Rumours on Deadline Day
Paris Saint-Germain defender David Luiz is reportedly set to stay with the French champions this summer rather than return to Chelsea.
According to Simon Johnson of the Evening Standard, the Brazilian would need to engineer the move himself, with French outlet L'Equipe (h/t Tom Williams of the Agence France-Presse) adding that he is not prepared to do that:

The Daily Mail's Lee Clayton offered a contrasting report:
Chelsea sold Luiz to PSG in 2014 for £50 million.
The Blues have thus far failed to bring in a new defender this summer, which will be a concern given the team conceded 53 goals last season, and John Terry—for all his experience and leadership skills—is still a first-choice starter at 35 alongside Gary Cahill. However, failing to bring back Luiz could be a blessing in disguise.
The 29-year-old is good on the ball, as demonstrated by WhoScored.com:
Indeed, according to Squawka he completed 16 of the 18 take-ons he attempted last season and averaged a 92 per cent passing accuracy.
His excellent technical skills are more suited to playing in midfield, though—as a centre-back, his lack of concentration and positional discipline can make him a liability in defence.
In France that has been slightly mitigated by his side's vast superiority over their opposition, but even then it still flares up occasionally, per Williams:
Match of the Day host Gary Lineker believes Luiz's presence at Chelsea would put a strain on their defensive midfielders:
The Blues desperately need an addition or two in their back line, but Luiz could do more harm than good—as they compete for the title with Manchester United, Manchester City and a number of others, they cannot afford to have a player cost them vital points.
Chelsea must look elsewhere and do so quickly.
