Korean Pitcher Aims Pickoff Throw at Runner's Head, Ordered to Community Service
Andrew GouldAug 30, 2016
Korean Baseball Organization pitcher Lim fired a dangerous throw at his opponent's head Saturday, causing the league to slap him with a three-game suspension and 120 days of community service.
Considering how far away runner Oh Jae-won was from second base, it's hard to give the KIA Tigers pitcher the benefit of the doubt. The ball sailed over the runner's head and into center field as he narrowly avoided a serious injury.
Even if the pitcher were to try to pass it off as an accident, nobody short of Roger Clemens would buy it. The baffling move could have ended far worse, with the consequences much steeper than four months of community service.
