Cullen Jenkins Cut by Redskins: Latest Comments, Reaction

Tyler ConwayAug 29, 2016

Cullen Jenkins has departed his third NFC East franchise. The veteran defensive lineman was cut by Washington on Saturday after signing with the team on Aug. 29.

Jenkins spoke with Josina Anderson of ESPN, saying he'll wait to see if he lands with another team.

"I still want to play football," Jenkins told Anderson. "I still feel like I have a lot to offer and a lot to prove."

Jenkins, 35, spent the last three seasons with the New York Giants. He recorded 26 tackles and three sacks while appearing in all 16 games. Heading into his 13th NFL season, Jenkins previously played seven years with the Green Bay Packers and two with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Given his lack of success in 2015, though, it's fair to wonder if Jenkins has anything left. Pro Football Focus ranked him 103rd among interior linemen last season. Only 20 qualifying players graded worse.
