Kyle Larson captured the checkered flag for the first time on the Sprint Cup Series with his win on Sunday afternoon at the Pure Michigan 400 at Michigan International Speedway.
Larson, who passed Chase Elliott for the lead on a late restart, is one of the brightest young stars in the sport. His win locks up a place in the season-ending Chase for the Sprint Cup and snaps a 99-race winless streak for Chip Ganassi Racing.
Elliott led 31 laps on the day and had a chance to win.
But he spun his tires on the final restart, which allowed Larson to pass him for the lead and the trip to Victory Lane.
Brad Keselowski, Ryan Blaney and Kevin Harvick rounded out the top-five finishers.
