Liverpool Transfer News: Latest Rumours on Christian Pulisic and Joe Hart

Gianni VerschuerenAug 26, 2016

Liverpool have reportedly made an £11 million offer for Borussia Dortmund starlet Christian Pulisic, while the latest reports from Anfield say the Reds will not be moving for Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart.

Tony Barrett of JOE.co.uk launched the Pulisic rumours on Friday, tweeting that Liverpool have already made their approach for the 17-year-old.

Bild (h/t MLSSoccer.com's Sam Stejskal) previously reported that Stoke City have also made an offer, while RB Leipzig and CSKA Moscow are keeping an eye on the situation.

Pulisic has long been regarded as one of the most promising youngsters in Germany and flashed his potential on several occasions with BVB last year. Here's a look at some of his highlights:

The U.S. international could see his opportunities decrease in the 2016-17 campaign, however. Dortmund signed several talented youngsters during the summer, including Ousmane Dembele and Emre Mor.

Both are older and more developed than Pulisic and expected to see more playing time than the tricky winger, leading to the latest round of speculation. Fans may not be happy to hear Pulisic could leave the Signal Iduna Park, but if the destination is Anfield, that could change, per Yahoo Sport's Kristan Heneage:

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has a superb track record when it comes to talent development, which could sway Pulisic to move to England. The links with Stoke City never made much sense, but Anfield would be a far more appealing destination.

He's expected to stay put for now, however. Pulisic is still just 17 years old, and at this stage of his career, high-level coaching and the chance to work with world-class talent will only aid his development.

He would struggle for minutes with Liverpool just as much as he would with Dortmund, and as long as he keeps working the way he has, he'll have the chance to beat out Mor and Dembele at his current club.

The path to the starting XI would perhaps be a little easier in England, but that may not be worth him leaving his comfort zone.

Dortmund will undoubtedly realise his tremendous potential, and the odds of them agreeing to a sale for just £11 million are minimal. With less than a week remaining in the transfer window, there is little time for both clubs to reach a compromise.

Meanwhile, James Pearce of the Liverpool Echo reported that the Reds will not be signing Hart despite persistent rumours saying they might. Hart could leave the Etihad Stadium following the arrival of Claudio Bravo, and with Loris Karius missing the start of the season through injury, it was suggested Hart could be a temporary solution.

Per Pearce, Karius is making good progress, and Klopp is happy with Simon Mignolet's current form and his other options:

"

Karius has yet to feature due to the broken hand he suffered in pre-season but the Germany Under-21s international is making good progress.

He hopes to return to full training shortly after the international break and could be back in action before the end of September.

Mignolet has made a solid start to the season and Klopp believes Liverpool already boast sufficient quality in the keeping department for the campaign ahead.

"

Hart is quickly running out of potential suitors with little time remaining in the transfer window―as shared by Sky Sports News HQ, Everton manager Ronald Koeman already confirmed the Toffees won't be signing the England international:

Karius will be Liverpool's starter as soon as he's ready to return, and given his high upside and the fact that the Reds moved for him so early in the transfer window, there's every reason to give him the best opportunity possible to succeed.

That includes not moving for a veteran, class option like Hart, who will need to come up with a solution in a hurry.
