The team also announced Burks will be out indefinitely as he starts the rehabilitation process in Salt Lake City.

Burks Once Again Bitten by Injury Bug

Burks has had terrible luck when it comes to his health over the last two years. Between the 2014-15 and 2015-16 seasons, the 25-year-old appeared in 58 combined games.

He had shoulder surgery in December 2014, and almost a year later, he underwent surgery on his ankle. Burks also had minor arthroscopic surgery on his knee and ankle in June.

Burks' injuries are concerning for Utah since 21-year-old Dante Exum missed the entire 2015-16 season after suffering a torn ACL. The Jazz are building a talented young backcourt, but major question marks hover over two of its primary pieces.

Luckily for Utah, Rodney Hood emerged in a big way last year, finishing third on the team with 14.5 points per game on 42.0 percent shooting, including 35.9 percent from three-point range.

Head coach Quin Snyder should have enough options at the 2-guard spot to compensate for Burks' absence as long as Exum stays healthy. Shelvin Mack could move over from point guard to spell Hood for stretches as well.
