Jordan Matthews Injury: Updates on Eagles WR's Back and Return

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Jordan Matthews was dealing with back spasms, but he is active for Sunday's game against the Seattle Seahawks.
Matthews dealt with a knee injury during the preseason, and while his back issues present another obstacle, durability has been one of his biggest assets at the NFL level.
Matthews has been a consistent presence since the Eagles drafted him in the second round in 2014. He played all 16 games in each of his first two seasons and tallied 872 receiving yards and eight touchdown catches as a rookie and followed that up with 997 receiving yards and eight touchdown catches in his second campaign.
He is in the midst of a solid season in 2016 with 48 receptions for 580 yards and three touchdowns, all of which lead the team.
The 6'3" receiver serves as a dangerous red-zone threat because of his ability to outleap cornerbacks on jump balls and high-point passes. Matthews also possesses enough speed to create separation downfield.
The Eagles do have a handful of other pieces who can shoulder more of the load if he is forced to the sidelines in the future.
Nelson Agholor was a 2015 first-round pick with a high ceiling, and the talented Dorial Green-Beckham has shown some flashes of brilliance. Tight end Zach Ertz is also a big-time target.
Matthews has the potential to be a reliable No. 1 receiver, and the Eagles are a much more dangerous offense when he is healthy and on the field, which made his availability paramount against Seattle's dominant defense.
