Al Roker Sounds Off on Ryan Lochte in Passionate Segment: 'He Lied'
The bizarre Ryan Lochte saga has siphoned all the attention in Rio de Janeiro. Some observers are willing to give the 32-year-old Olympic swimmer the benefit of the doubt for his misleading account about being robbed at gunpoint.
Al Roker is not one of those people.
The Today Show anchor repeatedly said "He lied" during a heated debate with Billy Bush, who tried to defend Lochte. The television personality was on too much of a roll to derail.
Lochte's attorney, Jeffrey M. Ostrow, will disagree with Roker's assessment. Per USA Today's Josh Peter, he claims his client did not fib.
“All we know for sure is the account that Ryan gave and the swimmers gave, that they were held at gunpoint, was supported by that video and they were forced to give up money."
As Bush offers support to the "kids traveling abroad," Roker furiously stirs his drink. Everyone following this story can relate to his restlessness.
