Manchester United Transfer News: Latest on Blaise Matuidi and Jose Fonte Rumours
Paris Saint-Germain midfielder and Manchester United target Blaise Matuidi will reportedly tell the Ligue 1 champions he wants to leave the club this summer. Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho has commented on rumours linking Southampton's Jose Fonte with an Old Trafford move.
According to Sky Italia, the arrival of former Sevilla star Grzegorz Krychowiak has left Matuidi feeling less wanted at Parc des Princes, and he's ready to inform his employers he wishes to leave (h/t talkSPORT).

United have already made a significant stride in adding to their midfield after completing a world record £89 million deal to re-sign Paul Pogba, but Matuidi may yet be seen as another recruitment opportunity.
What's more, Sky Sports News reporter Kaveh Solhekol recently pointed out one defining factor that links United, Pogba and Matuidi together this summer, and that's the players' representation:
Calciomercato.com reported PSG are seeking €40 million (£34.5 million) if they're to sell their anchor, with Serie A champions Juventus also contending for the 29-year-old's signature (h/t Football Italia).
Bleacher Report's Jonathan Johnson has said PSG manager Unai Emery is keen to keep Matuidi in the French capital, although that's not to say he has no chance of moving this summer:
Matuidi has consistently featured as one key component in PSG's blossoming midfield in recent years, winning four consecutive Ligue 1 titles and making 202 appearances across the last four seasons altogether.
The Red Devils may be reluctant to spend heavily on their midfield once again this summer, but if the right players are sold to make room, Mourinho may yet decide his signature is a tantalising prospect.
Elsewhere, Mourinho has refused to comment on speculation linking his club with a move for Southampton centre-back Jose Fonte. When asked about the rumour on Thursday, the Portuguese replied, per Arindam Rej of ESPN FC: "I don't care."
His Southampton counterpart, Claude Puel, was somewhat more passionate about the subject when quizzed on the matter prior to Friday's Premier League duel between the two teams, per Sky Sports News HQ:
Andy Mitten recently wrote for the Manchester Evening News that Fonte "wants to work with his compatriot" Mourinho, and at 32 years of age, he's keen to finally take his chance at the big time with United.
After already signing Eric Bailly from Villarreal this summer, United may have to move on one of their existing centre-backs if they're to make a move for Fonte, whom the Saints will be hoping to keep at St. Mary's.
