Tony McDaniel Snags Seattle Seahawks Contract with Help from Snapchat Post
A Snapchat post indirectly led to Tony McDaniel signing with the Seattle Seahawks on Monday.
Last week, the 31-year-old defensive lineman shared a photo of a long TSA pre-check line at an Atlanta airport. After his agent, David Canter, found out he was headed to Seattle to see family and friends, Canter persuaded the Seahawks to arrange a convenient workout.
"I said to them last week, 'Hey, Tony's going to be in town. It's a free workout. Worst-case scenario, you bring him in, he looks like crap, he stays home. You don't even have to pay for a flight,'" Canter told ESPN.com's Sheil Kapadia.

Let's not give Snapchat all the credit for a fortuitous coincidence paying off. Seattle already has familiarity with McDaniel, a member of the 2013 and 2014 NFC champions. He still needed to impress in his tryout, and he has to earn a roster spot during preseason.
Disclosing one's whereabouts on social media isn't always the smartest idea, but in this case, it worked out.
