Olympic 2016 Medal Count: Sunday's Latest Nation Rankings and Standings
Max Whitlock won Great Britain's first ever Olympic gymnastic gold medal in the men's floor final at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games on Sunday and then added another in the pommel horse, beating teammate Louis Smith into silver.
America's Simone Biles added a third gold medal to her Games haul as she triumphed in the women's vault final.
Britain also won gold in the golf tournament, as Justin Rose beat Sweden's Henrik Stenson into the silver medal spot after a terrific tussle in the final round.
Russia added to their tally of golds after Ekaterina Makarova and Elena Vesnina won the women's doubles final 6-4, 6-4 against Switzerland's Martina Hingis and Timea Bacsinszky, while Jemima Sumgong became the first Kenyan woman to win the Olympic marathon.
Here is how the medal table looks after Sunday's action in Brazil, with the United States still leading the way by some distance:
Biles trounced the field in her final. Her competition was always realistically playing for second place, and so it proved as Biles scored 15.966 ahead of Russia's Maria Paseka (15.253) and Swiss gymnast Giulia Steingruber (15.216).
Per SportsCenter, Biles broke new ground with her third gold of the games:

Rose's victory was similarly historic. Rio 2016's golf tournament was the sport's first in an Olympics for 112 years.
Rose went into Sunday's final round with a one-shot lead over Stenson and the pair headed to the 18th tee tied at 15-under par, having exchanged blows throughout the round.
Stenson hit a relatively poor third shot into the green on the par-five last, but Rose put his close and the Englishman holed his birdie putt to seal gold.
Per BBC Sport's Piers Newbury, Rose, unlike some of golf's other stars who withdrew from the tournament, embraced the Olympics with great enthusiasm:

Whitlock's floor win was something of a surprise. He was tipped to break Britain's gold duck in gymnastics at Rio 2016, but in the pommel, not the floor.
However, going third of eight, he put in a stunning, almost error-free, performance in the first of the individual apparatus finals, and mistakes from the likes of Kenzo Shirai and Samuel Mikulak saw him hold on to top spot.
He was back again for the pommel barely two hours later and came up with a stunning routine packed with difficulty to push Smith out of the gold medal spot, per Bleacher Report UK:
Smith was also pipped to gold in the pommel four years ago at London 2012, but took his career medal haul to four on Sunday as he claimed silver.
