Simone Biles secured her third gold medal of the 2016 Rio Olympics on Sunday afternoon.
Biles—who had already earned golds in the team and all-around competitions—recorded a resounding victory in the vault. Her 15.966 was well ahead of Maria Paseka (Russia; 15.253) and Guilia Steingruber (Switzerland; 15.216).
Madison Kocian came up just short in the uneven bars final, posting a 15.833 score that only trailed Aliya Mustafina (Russia; 15.900), who won the gold medal in the 2012 London Games, too.
