Ethiopia Olympian Etenesh Diro Finishes Steeplechase with One Shoe

Etenesh Diro lost her shoe during a qualifying heat of the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase, but she kept going anyway.

The Ethiopian Olympian was leading the field when her left shoe fell off in a collision. Instead of stopping, she continued to compete barefoot. 

Diro did not qualify for the steeplechase final, but her perseverance won over the crowd and created a tale of courage as memorable as winning a medal.
