
Oscar Pistorius Denies Suicide Speculation, Returns to Prison
Former Olympic track star Oscar Pistorius returned to prison in South Africa on Saturday after being treated at a hospital for wrist injuries.
According to the Associated Press (h/t ESPN.com), Pistorius denied speculation that his hospitalization was in relation to a suicide attempt. South Africa correctional services department official Manelisi Wolela released a statement on Pistorius' condition via text message: "[Pistorius] denied speculations of a suicide attempt. As a policy principle, we cannot further discuss a particular offender's personal condition in the public domain."
Pistorius' brother, Carl Pistorius, wrote the following on Twitter:

The 29-year-old six-time Paralympic gold medalist is serving six years in prison for the shooting death of girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp in 2013.
Pistorius was initially convicted of manslaughter before an appeals court found him guilty of murder in 2015.
He will be eligible for parole after serving three years of his sentence.
