Tottenham Transfer News: Latest Georges-Kevin Nkoudou, Rafa Silva Rumours

Tottenham's move for Marseille star Georges-Kevin Nkoudou is growing less likely by the day, as the silence surrounding his proposed transfer continues, while Spurs are said to be pushing hard for Braga star Rafa Silva.

As reported by Tom Coast of Sport Witness, Nkoudou's move was supposed to become official two weeks ago, and Sky Sports News HQ seemed confident an official announcement was on the horizon late July:

But since then, things have gone quiet, and at this point in time, no one really seems to know what's going on with the 21-year-old. Rumours have even started surfacing linking Spurs with another young forward, Lille's Sofiane Boufal, who could be an alternative, per Coast's report.

According to Coast, the lengthy delay could be bad news:

As for Nkoudou, this long delay for a transfer that was meant to happen two weeks ago points towards something not being right, and the chances of him signing are dwindling by the day, with suggestions it might not happen altogether.

It’s a matter of wait and see for Nkoudou, while Boufal, well, there’s till plenty of time for Tottenham to make a move.

Nkoudou emerged as the latest in a long line of young French talents last season, becoming a regular contributor for Marseille out wide. He impressed with his pace and trickery, but Marseille's struggles in Ligue 1 meant he rarely got to show off his full bag of tricks.

The uncertainty surrounding this deal comes at a bad time, as it casts doubt on several other moves Spurs could be making. Clinton N’Jie was supposed to move the other way on loan, and any deal for Boufal would be contingent on Nkoudou not joining Spurs.

The Lille man is a more established player and arguably an even better prospect, but he plays in many of the same areas as Nkoudou does―it's highly unlikely the two would join during the same transfer window.

Elsewhere, Darren Lewis of the Daily Mirror reports Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino is desperate to add Silva before the end of the summer window, citing a £10 million valuation for the 23-year-old.

Per the report, Silva wants to move to the Premier League, and talks between Spurs and Braga should start shortly.

Lucas Sposito of Sport Witness reports the £10 million valuation isn't even close to what it will take to convince Braga to sell, noting the likes of FC Porto and Zenit St. Petersburg are also said to be interested.

Silva is expected to leave Braga at some point this summer, so if Spurs want to add the winger, they'll simply have to pay what Braga are demanding to make sure they can beat the competition to his signature.
