Kevin White Comments on Jay Cutler Amid Martellus, Michael Bennett's Criticism
Chicago Bears wide receiver Kevin White doesn't believe the outside reputation of Bears quarterback Jay Cutler is warranted based on everything he's witnessed over the past year.
Ben Baskin of Sports Illustrated passed along comments White made about the often-lambasted signal-caller Thursday after the latest round of criticism emerged from the NFL's outspoken Bennett brothers, Michael and Martellus:

The Bennett brothers didn't hold back their opinions about Cutler when asked about him by Mina Kimes of ESPN The Magazine for an upcoming issue.
"Worst quarterback in the NFL," Michael, the Seattle Seahawks defensive lineman, said.
"I'd be open, and he'd throw into double coverage," added former Bears teammate Martellus, who's since moved on to the New England Patriots.
Cutler is used to taking verbal jabs by now, of course. Chris Yuscavage of Complex rated him as the fourth-most criticized quarterback in history behind only Ryan Leaf, JaMarcus Russell and Tony Romo in 2014, and not much has changed since then.
In turn, he's also learned to avoid trying to fight back against every negative connotation. Chris Emma of CBS Chicago provided the QB's response when asked about the comments Wednesday.
"I'm really not going to get into that," Cutler said. "Most receivers and tight ends are always open. Hopefully, Tom (Brady) can do a better job of finding him than I did. You can't please everybody. We're at both ends of the spectrum here."
Ultimately, Cutler is an easy target for criticism because he's endured an up-and-down career and doesn't typically showcase the fiery emotion fans often see from Brady, Aaron Rodgers or other franchise quarterbacks. It's raised questions, whether legitimate or not, about how much he really cares.
White, who's getting ready to play a key role in the Chicago offense this season after missing the entire 2015 campaign due to an injury, coming to his defense won't stop other people from taking swipes at him. But it's probably nice for Cutler to feel the support from within his own locker room.
