Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Dallas Looking at Glennon
Wednesday, Aug. 3
A source told Clarence Hill of the Star-Telegram on Wednesday, the Dallas Cowboys are discussing a possible deal regarding Glennon "internally."
Glennon hasn't appeared in a game for the Buccaneers since 2014, when he was benched for Josh McCown.
In the two NFL seasons he was able to get on the field prior to his benching, he didn't exactly impress.
Over 19 games in 2013 and 2014, Glennon compiled a 5-13 record while completing less than 60 percent of his passes with 29 touchdowns and 15 interceptions.
But the experience he has gained over the past two years looks like it's valuable to the Cowboys, who are looking at possible backups for Tony Romo.
Kellen Moore, who was originally slated as Dallas' No. 2 arm, broke his ankle during practice on Tuesday and will require surgery that is set to hold him out for "three or four months," per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
The only other options the Cowboys currently have are rookie Dak Prescott, whom they selected in the fourth round of this year's draft, and Jameill Showers, former practice-squad member.
Given Romo's injury history, it's vital the Cowboys find someone who can step in if their veteran leader does go down for a second straight year. If not, they could have a miserable time trying to compete in the NFC East.
