Sprinter Morolake Akinosun Predicted Olympic Spot as Teen, Makes Good on Tweet

Morolake Akinosun had lofty goals as a teenager in high school—but she certainly didn't lack self-confidence.

That much is clear from her Twitter account.

Back in 2011, a 17-year-old Akinosun sent out this tweet:

Yeah, forget about "finding a date for prom" or "pulling off a senior prank" as senior goals. This teen had her eyes on the ultimate prize.

Let's get an update on where she stands five years later:

Akinosun doesn't appear to have predicted whether she would medal, so we will just have to wait and see how she does. She will compete for Team USA in the 4x100-meter relay; the final is on Aug. 19.
