Latest on Williams' Playing Status
Wednesday, Dec. 14
Bills head coach Rex Ryan told reporters he's "very hopeful" Williams will play against the Browns.
Williams Struggling to Shake Injury Bug
This is another difficult setback for Williams, who was placed on the PUP list at the start of training camp as he recovered from knee surgery. What's more, he appeared in only six games in 2015 because of the knee problems. Thus far, Williams has 3.5 sacks and 37 tackles on the season.
Williams has been in the league since 2006 and is a four-time Pro Bowler. Fortunately for the Bills, they have plenty of formidable depth along the defensive line, especially with Marcell Dareus back in the lineup over the past four games.
While the Bills have impressive depth up front, they could use Williams back and healthy if they plan to make a playoff push after jumping out to a 6-7 start.
