Barcelona Transfer News: Luciano Vietto Blow, Latest Ayoze Perez Rumours
Atletico Madrid starlet Luciano Vietto will not be joining Barcelona after all, as he's all set to move to Sevilla on a loan deal after passing a medical. Meanwhile, Newcastle United's Ayoze Perez is once again being linked with a move to the Blaugrana.
As reported by Goal's Joe Wright, Sevilla announced on Friday Vietto has passed a medical and is already training with the squad ahead of the deal becoming official.
The club even shared an image of the youngster during training:

Per the report, there were strong indications Vietto would join Barcelona instead, and fans and pundits all assumed the deal would get done less than a week ago. La Liga blogger Rafael Hernandez was certain:
The 22-year-old moved to the Spanish capital last summer after an impressive spell with Villarreal, establishing himself as one of Argentina's top young talents. He failed to make much of an impact at the Estadio Vicente Calderon, however, scoring just a single goal in La Liga—against rivals Real Madrid.
Vietto proved too inexperienced to shine for a club as big and ambitious as Atletico, and manager Diego Simeone understandably opted to go with the more experienced Fernando Torres as the preferred partner for star forward Antoine Griezmann.
That doesn't mean the club is ready to give up on the youngster, however. As you can see in the video below, he's just too talented not to be given another chance:
A move to Barcelona never made much sense to begin with, as Vietto is in dire need of consistent playing time—something he would never get at the Camp Nou. Neymar, Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi are the obvious starters for the Blaugrana, and Vietto would have been the main back-up at best.
In Seville, his chances of making the starting XI will be greater, even if he once again faces a real battle. The Andalusians are just as ambitious as Atletico, so Vietto won't have it easy.
Meanwhile, AS (h/t Daily Express' Joe Short) reported Perez is once again on Barcelona's radar, as the Catalans are still looking for a versatile depth player to strengthen the squad.

Per the report, the Catalans tried to sign the 23-year-old two years ago before he moved to Newcastle, and they've tracked him ever since, contacting the Magpies as early as March.
Newcastle have already lost Andros Townsend this summer and are desperately trying to hold on to Moussa Sissoko, as several clubs are eyeing their players following relegation from the Premier League.
Per Lee Ryder of the Chronicle, the club has no intention of parting with Perez:
Perez is too talented to ply his trade in the Championship, but Newcastle are planning a swift return to the highest level of English football and will need their best players to stay put in order to do so.
The youngster already turned down Barcelona once, likely with a lack of playing time in the back of his mind, and there's every reason to believe he'll do so again. His 2015-16 campaign didn't indicate he's good enough to make the grade at the Camp Nou, and another season with the Magpies can only aid his development.
