Barcelona Transfer News: Carlos Bacca Targeted, Latest Luciano Vietto Rumours
Barcelona are reportedly planning to make a move for AC Milan striker Carlos Bacca with Atletico Madrid forward Luciano Vietto currently stalling on a switch to the Camp Nou.
Per Mundo Deportivo (via Calciomercato), Barca bid €22 million (£18.4 million) for Vietto, but manager Luis Enrique has now turned his focus to Bacca—"whom he has admired since his time at Sevilla"—as the Argentinian is dragging his feet.
The report added that Barca want to spend only what they would on Vietto, but Milan are holding out for €30 million (£25.9 million) for Bacca and already have an agreement with West Ham United—although the 29-year-old Colombian is only open to joining a Champions League club.

The Hammers are not the only competitors Barca will face for Bacca's signature, as he has also been linked to Napoli as a potential replacement for Juventus-bound Gonzalo Higuain, per Italian football writer Tancredi Palmeri:
Paris Saint-Germain have also been touted as his preferred destination, per Sky Italia (via Get French Football News):
Barcelona have made a concerted effort this summer to add further depth to their attacking line to attempt to take some of the burden off Luis Suarez, Neymar and Lionel Messi.
They have been linked with a number of attacking additions and sensibly activated their buyback clause on versatile attacking midfielder Denis Suarez, per Bleacher Report's Sam Tighe:
Vietto, 22, has long been been a mooted target for the Blaugrana and they are reportedly set to make "one last attempt" to sign him despite Sevilla edging ever closer to snapping him up on a season-long loan for €3 million (£2.5 million) before making the deal permanent for €20 million next year, per Cadena SER (via Sport).
The striker's youth and value would make him a much better long-term buy for Barca, but their chances of signing him are ebbing away as Atleti manager Diego Simeone plans to block any move for Vietto to the Camp Nou, per Sport's Jordi Blanco.
Bacca looks to be the most realistic option remaining for Barca, and he would be a fine addition having proven his ability as a goalscorer in La Liga—he returned 34 Spanish top-flight goals in two seasons at Sevilla and netted 18 times in Serie A last term, per WhoScored.com.
However, he would move to Barca to play as a back-up striker to Suarez and undoubtedly make fewer starts than at Sevilla or Milan.
Barca's rivals to sign Bacca are both looking to replace key strikers—PSG have lost Zlatan Ibrahimovic, while Higuain is on the verge of leaving Napoli—and thus could surely tempt the Colombia international with a starting role unlikely to be available at the Camp Nou.
