Liverpool Transfer News: Mamadou Sakho Attitude Concerns, Latest Reds Rumours
Mamadou Sakho was sent home from Liverpool's pre-season tour of the USA on Tuesday, reportedly due to concerns over his attitude.
According the Liverpool Echo's James Pearce, the Frenchman was sent home on an overnight flight after being told by manager Jurgen Klopp he would continue his rehabilitation from an Achilles injury back in Liverpool.
Pearce reported the reason for being sent home—which the club declined to give—was due to his "attitude around the club's training camp," which leaves the 26-year-old's future "uncertain."

Sakho's injury will see him miss the start of the Premier League season, but he was included in the squad to help "foster team spirit" in the camp; indeed, Lucas Leiva and Joe Gomez also travelled despite injuries, but they are remaining in California with the team.
Klopp recently joked about Sakho being late in a video posted on Liverpool's official Twitter feed on Saturday:
According to This is Anfield, this is not the first time his demeanour has been called into question during his time with the Reds:
Bleacher Report UK's Jack Lusby hopes the defender will still have a future at the club, but should this prove to be the end of his career, it will necessitate another dip into the transfer market:
Indeed, along with Joel Matip, Dejan Lovren and Ragnar Klavan, the Reds look to have four strong centre-back options going into the new season, but should Sakho—who may well be first choice with Matip when fit—be sold, another starter would be needed.
It has been a difficult time for Sakho of late, who was suspended at the end of the season over a failed drugs test.
After being cleared of the doping charges by UEFA and allowed to resume his Liverpool career, it would be a shame if it were to end so soon and in this manner.
Meanwhile, the Echo's Neil Jones relayed the news that speculation linking the Reds with Schalke playmaker Max Meyer has been shut down by the club's sporting director, Christian Heidel.

He said: "Meyer is a really good player, but a move to Liverpool is nonsense. I’ve known Mr. Klopp for a while now, and I have spoken with him recently. I think he would have mentioned the player by name if interest had been there. Apart from this, Max is not on our sales list."
The 20-year-old has emerged as a hot prospect in recent seasons, and he finished a strong campaign with six goals and 10 assists in all competitions.
After signing Sadio Mane and Georginio Wijnaldum, Liverpool have little need for another attacking midfielder, and Schalke clearly aren't willing to sell him. He likely won't be arriving at Anfield this summer.
