The 140-pound unification bout between WBO champion Terence "Bud" Crawford (28-0, 20 KO) and WBC titleholder Viktor Postol (28-0, 12 KO) probably won't generate a ton of pay-per-view buys, but if you're a hardcore boxing fan, you know it's one of the best fights on the schedule this year.

This is a matchup between two undefeated and proven champions who are looking to lock down two of the four major titles in their division. Crawford is 28, and Postol is 32, so both fighters are still in their prime.
Rarely do you see such a sensible yet potentially competitive bout in this era of boxing. It's a shame neither Crawford nor Postol has a strong enough global following for this fight to get the attention it deserves.

Crawford Punishes Lundy (February 27)

After a heated buildup to the fight, Crawford wasted no time in showing Henry Lundy who the superior fighter was in the ring. It took just five rounds for Crawford to score the win via TKO.
Crawford put on a dominant performance against a confident and brazen opponent.
Lundy's best weight class has always been 135 pounds. He was no match for Crawford's length and ambidextrous attack. The one-sided beating could serve as a deterrent for the next opponent who considers trash-talking Bud.
Crawford discussed the upcoming bout with Postol in this interview with HBO BoxingĀ below:
Postol Stops Matthysse (October, 3, 2015)

In a bit of a shocker, Postol scored a 10th-round knockout victory over Lucas Matthysse. The latter had long been known for his power punching and ruggedness.Ā
Prior to this defeat, Matthysse had never been stopped. Postol had just 11 knockouts coming into the bout, so that made his late-round stoppage all the more surprising.
The finish happened with just two seconds remaining in the 10th round. It was the result of cumulative punishment, not one devastating shot. Could Postol break Crawford in a similar way?
Postol gave his take on the upcoming bout via HBO Boxing below:
Prediction

This will be a tactically fascinating bout.Ā
Postol's piston-like jab is his best weapon. He used the punch to break Matthysse's spirit. The Ukrainian will enjoy a three-and-a-half-inch reach advantage over Crawford, which suggests the jab could be a major factor Saturday night.
However, Crawford's ability to switch stances could give Postol trouble.Ā The speed advantage should also be in his favor as well. From a technical standpoint, there's no question that Postol will be the most challenging opponent Crawford has faced in his career, and vice versa.
It won't be easy, but ultimately Crawford will find an entry point and establish his own jab. He'll wear Postol down and stop him late.
Look for a 10th-round TKO victory from Crawford, as he positions himself for a potential big-money fight in his next bout.
