Liverpool Transfer News: Georginio Wijnaldum Terms Reported, Latest Reds Rumours
Newcastle United are reportedly open to a "cash-plus-player deal" to the tune of £25 million for Georginio Wijnaldum, who is attracting interest from Liverpool.
According to MailOnline's Simon Jones, the Magpies' valuation of the player has warded off Tottenham Hotspur's pursuit of the 25-year-old, but the Reds have "several fringe players" they might consider putting forward to help match it.
The Liverpool Echo's James Pearce reported the Dutchman is considered an alternative to Piotr Zielinski:

Per Neil Jones of the Echo, the Reds were in the hunt for the Udinese midfielder but look to have lost out to AC Milan.
Though he did not have his best season last year—the same can be said for most of the Toon first team as they slipped out of the Premier League—Wijnaldum is an excellent player.
His intelligent movement, eye for goal and creativity in the final third make him a real threat going forward, and had the Reds not already signed Sadio Mane, he would have made a strong candidate to start alongside Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino.
However, while Zielinski is a hard-working, box-to-box midfielder who won't shirk his defensive duties in the centre, Wijnaldum is most effective as an attacking player, despite playing in a deeper role for the Netherlands at the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
Even if he is to be used in his correct position, the Reds already have plenty of players there, per Football365's Daniel Storey:
While he would be an upgrade on a number of those players, it's difficult to see where he'd fit in the starting lineup.
What might also be a concern is the difficulty he had performing away from home last season, per OptaJoe:
That may improve with Liverpool—Newcastle had an abysmal away record as a team last season, winning just twice, so it wasn't entirely Wijnaldum's own doing. However, when combined with the fact Liverpool don't particularly need him, the fee they'd have to pay is a steep one indeed.
Meanwhile, Bristol City and Wigan Athletic are interested in signing Reds back-up goalkeeper Adam Bogdan, per Jones.
The Hungarian finds himself behind Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet for the upcoming season, so his chances of picking up any first-team minutes look slim at best.
While it may be a step down to leave the Premier League, Bogdan is 28 years old and the chance of being a No. 1 elsewhere could reignite his career.
