Barcelona Transfer News: Thomas Vermaelen, Lucas Digne, Latest Blaugrana Rumours
West Ham United are reportedly monitoring Barcelona defender Thomas Vermaelen, who has also been linked with a move to Roma.
That's according to Sport (h/t Simone Bernabei of Tuttomercatoweb), and the Spanish publication noted the Hammers are "keeping tabs" on the Belgian, who has been "repeatedly linked" with a £9 million transfer to the Italian capital as he is thought to be leaving after a difficult spell at the Camp Nou.
Indeed, the 30-year-old has made just 21 appearances in a Barcelona shirt after injury restricted him to a solitary outing in his first season.

Per La Liga writer Andrew Gaffney, the centre-back was fortunate to make Belgium's 2016 UEFA European Championship squad:
He looked solid at the tournament, but it wouldn't be a surprise if the club were to cut their losses on him.
Having made over 100 Premier League appearances with Arsenal, he could add further experience to the Irons back line, but there remains a serious question mark over whether he can stay fit.

Meanwhile, Mundo Deportivo (h/t Bernabei) reported the Blaugrana are gearing up to sign Lucas Digne.
The Paris Saint-Germain left-back spent last season on loan with Roma, where he did well, according to football writer Paolo Bandini:
Meanwhile, Barca left-back Jordi Alba didn't have his best campaign at the club. Here are how the two players compared stats-wise, per Squawka:
| Apps | 33 | 31 |
| Minutes | 2,857 | 2,589 |
| Goals | 3 | 6 |
| Assists | 3 | 0 |
| Tackles | 50 | 39 |
| Interceptions | 63 | 61 |
| Aerial Duels | 74 | 16 |
| Chances Created | 26 | 19 |
| Successful Take-Ons | 25 | 4 |
| Pass Completion | 81% | 87% |
Jeremy Mathieu and Adriano were also used at left-back on occasion, but neither is a viable long-term alternative to Alba, so another full-back could be highly useful.
The 22-year-old would be able to give him much fiercer competition for places, so he could be a worthwhile capture.
Lastly, Juventus are weighing up a move for Arda Turan that could depend on Paul Pogba.
According to Calciomercato (h/t Sport's Lluis Miguelsanz), the Bianconeri have made contact with Barcelona and Turan over a potential move that could be a "loan deal, with an obligatory option to buy in the case that Pogba ends up staying for one more season."

Should Pogba leave this summer, it could be a permanent switch for Turan from the off and worth €30 million.
Turan is said to prefer to stay put but is also attracting interest from Turkey as well as Arsenal and Chelsea in the Premier League. It is thought Barcelona's positive relationship with the Old Lady could make them more open to negotiating a deal.
The midfielder struggled to nail down a starting position in the team last season—perhaps in part due to being ineligible to play until January—and was also one of the most disappointing players at Euro 2016, per Squawka Football:
Nevertheless, his effective blend of work ethic, physicality and technical ability makes him a useful player to have around, and he could return to form next season given the chance to play with the team from the start.
Similarly, he could thrive at Juve or in the English top flight, so testing Barca's resolve may not be a bad idea for those interested in him.
