CM Punk Rips Athletes Who Use PEDs in NSFW Panel
UFC star and former pro wrestler CM Punk has no respect for his colleagues, or any professional athletes, who use performance-enhancing drugs.
The 37-year-old, who will make his UFC debut against Mickey Gall at UFC 203 on September 10, was asked about his opinions on PEDs following the suspension of former light heavyweight champion Jon Jones, who was pulled from the UFC 200 card after USADA flagged one of his drug tests, per MMA Fighting's Shaun Al-Shatti.
As reported by RingSideNews' Steve Carrier, CM Punk didn't hold back during a recent panel:
"I think if you use drugs and you're a professional athlete, you're a p---y.
[...] I just really feel that, I understand everybody wants that competitive edge and they want to be better and stuff like that, but at the end of the day, you've got to look at yourself in the mirror. I don't know how some of these guys are doing that, and, you know, still be proud of who they are.
"
The former WWE champion has always profiled himself as straight-edge, and Power Slam Magazine's Findlay Martin (h/t Daniel Pena of WrestlingInc.com) reported multiple people who have travelled with CM Punk over the course of the last decade have confirmed he never drinks, smokes or uses illegal drugs of any kind.

With that in mind, his response shouldn't come as much of a surprise, especially at a time when discussions about drugs and PEDs dominate the UFC landscape. Jones' highly anticipated rematch with Daniel Cormier for the light heavyweight title was supposed to be the highlight of UFC 200, and Bones' absence was a huge blow for the organisation.
UFC legend Anderson Silva was brought in to save the fight, but per MMA Fighting, the fans were anything but pleased:
Per Al-Shatti, several UFC fighters reacted in disappointment when they heard the news of Jones' positive test, but few put it in terms as strongly as CM Punk.
