Thomas DuffyJul 11, 2016

The takeover continues.

With Pokemon Go—an app that allows players to catch Pokemon in the “real” world with the help of Google Maps—becoming more popular by the day, the Triple-A Durham Bulls are opening up their North Carolina field for fans to play.

General manager Mike Birling explained that Durham Bulls Athletic Park has become a “hotspot” for Pokemon:

"The problem was, many of the Pokemon were on the field, and our fans weren't able to catch them. With the team on the road for two weeks though, we thought this would be a perfect time to allow fans to catch the previously unattainable characters."

According to the team’s press release, pitcher Jaime Schultz and infielder Cameron Seitzer have been seen tracking Pokemon on the field before games. That’s dedication.

The promotion costs $5, with all proceeds going to Second Chance Pet Adoptions. Durham Bulls Athletic Park will be open from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday.
