Gokhan Tore to West Ham: Latest Loan Details, Reaction and More
West Ham United have completed the signing of Besiktas winger Gokhan Tore on a season-long loan.
The deal was confirmed on Friday by the Besiktas Twitter feed. Per Emre Sarigul of Turkish Football, club president Fikret Orman revealed the deal in a press conference.
"We have loaned Gokhan Tore to West Ham, they made an offer, and it appealed to us," he said. "We have a lot of competition for a place on the right wing with Andreas Beck, Gokhan Gonul, Kerim Frei, Ricardo Quaresma, Aras Ozbiliz and Olcay Sahan."

According to a report from Sky Sports, the Hammers will have the option to make the switch a permanent one should they wish. It’s stated a potential future fee of £10 million has been agreed between the Premier League outfit and Besiktas.
Having worked with the player during his time as a manager in Turkey, West Ham boss Slaven Bilic will know exactly what he’s getting from Tore. Here is a look at what the Olympic Stadium crowd can expect from the 24-year-old:
Tore’s career hasn’t followed a traditional path, having signed a professional contract with Hamburg SV after youth development that included stints at Bayer Leverkusen and Chelsea. He left the Bundesliga side in 2012 and then endured a torrid time with Rubin Kazan, before finally finding his feet with Besiktas under Bilic.

Stylistically, Tore will bring something different to the way West Ham attack. He’s comfortable on either flank and capable of taking on his opponent on the inside or outside. The Turkey international has a great appetite for the game and has looked ready to make the step up lately.
As these numbers from WhoScored.com illustrate, his direct style of wing play has been a big hit in the UEFA Europa League, too:
Tore’s development has been far from straightforward. In April 2014, he was shot in the shoulder at a Turkish nightclub, an attack that saw him need surgery before returning to action, per Rik Sharma of the Daily Mail.
West Ham fans will be delighted to have more diversity in their attacking play, too. While Dimitri Payet will remain the fulcrum around which the team is build, the dynamism of Tore—coupled with the intelligence of Manuel Lanzini—will pose problems for plenty of defences in the division.
Tore was tipped to be a superstar during his development with Chelsea, but he was unable to fully bridge the gap from the academy to the first team. Now, with the Blues' London rivals, he can prove he was worth persisting with.
