UFC's Derrick Lewis Took a Nap During Post-Fight Press Conference

Steven RondinaJul 7, 2016

Being a fighter is incredibly difficult. They train for months in anticipation of getting punched in the face for an often meager paycheck, and then afterward? They have to sit in front of the media and answer questions about what went right, what went wrong and what's next.

Derrick Lewis, though, wasn't interested in any of that. During the post-fight press conference at UFC Fight Night 90 on Thursday night, Lewis put his head down on the table and had a meeting with Mr. Sandman, via MMAFighting.com's Ariel Helwani:

The nap was well-earned for Lewis, who edged out heavyweight slugger Roy Nelson in a hard-fought bout. While the fight was expected to be a quick, decisive affair, Lewis instead was forced to work in the clinch and off his back for much of the fight.

A late flurry of offense, however, earned Lewis the win via split decision—and the right to take a quick snooze at the presser table.
