Federer vs. Raonic: Score, Highlights from Wimbledon Semifinals 2016
Milos Raonic has become the first Canadian man ever to reach a Grand Slam final after an epic five-set win over Roger Federer in the first men's semifinal on Friday at Wimbledon.
Both third-seeded Federer and sixth-seeded Raonic came into the match after coming back from two-set deficits to win five-set quarterfinal matches. Raonic got an early edge when he took advantage of his first break point opportunity in just the fourth game of the first set, but the seasoned Federer answered back with wins in the second and third sets.
When it looked like the seven-time champion Federer would improve his record in Wimbledon semifinals to 11-0, Raonic squeaked out a fourth set win, then broke Federer in the fifth after the Swiss master uncharacteristically slipped and fell on the grass surface that has been so good to him over the years.
Raonic will play in his first-ever Grand Slam final on Sunday against the winner of Friday's second semifinal between Andy Murray and Tomas Berdych.
Milos Raonic beats Roger Federer 6-3, 6-7(3), 4-6, 7-5, 6-3.
