The 33-year-old Brazilian made his NBA debut with the Lakers last season after spending 11 years in the Euroleague with six different teams, including FC Barcelona.

With the Lakers, Huertas appeared in 53 games. Coming off the bench, he averaged 4.5 points and 3.4 assists per game in just 16.4 minutes.

Huertas should expect similar minutes behind D'Angelo Russell and Jose Calderon, whom the Lakers acquired on Wednesday night from the Chicago Bulls, per Wojnarowski

While those stats aren't much to look at, Huertas' ability to distribute is his most important asset. Per 36 minutes, he averaged 7.5 helpers; that's three more than the Laker with the second-best numbers, Russell at 4.2.

Alongside Calderon, Huertas can also continue to help Russell to become a well-rounded point guard who could one day be the floor general of the Lakers.

While Russell goes through growing pains, which every young player experiences, Huertas will be able to come on and settle the offense while helping feed the other young stars such as Jordan Clarkson, Brandon Ingram and Julius Randle.
