Open Championship 2016 Leaderboard: Sunday Scores, Results and Analysis
With a final-round 63, Henrik Stenson has won the 145th Open Championship.
Stenson finished the week at 20 under par, three shots ahead of runner-up Phil Mickelson. Stenson went into Day 4 at Royal Troon with a one-shot lead on his playing partner, but a bogey on the first hole immediately levelled the playing field.
Though Mickelson was able to tie, he couldn't get a lead. Stenson made 10 birdies along with his two bogeys, while Mickelson carded four birdies and an eagle.
Mickelson's bogey-free 65 is his best-ever final day in a major, but he couldn't keep pace with Stenson's sharp tee shots and amazing putting.
Stenson's win is his first ever major championship, the first major win ever by a Swedish male, and the lowest 72-hole total ever at a major. A truly epic performance that lived up to its billing at one of golf's greatest events.
