Jalen Ramsey, Aaron Colvin Placed on PUP List by Jaguars Due to Injuries
Jacksonville Jaguars defensive back Jalen Ramsey was placed on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list Saturday as he continues to recover from offseason core muscle surgery.
Ryan O'Halloran of the Florida Times-Union passed along the news and noted fellow corner Aaron Colvin was also added to the PUP list.
Ramsey joined the Jaguars as the fifth overall pick in last year's draft. He enjoyed a solid rookie campaign to the tune of 65 combined tackles, two interceptions and a touchdown. The Jags are counting on him to build off that strong start throughout Year 2.

He played all 16 games during the 2016 season, but the versatile defender's right knee is a lingering concern. He underwent surgery last May after suffering a torn meniscus during the team's offseason conditioning program and previously had microfracture surgery on the knee back in high school.
Colvin is getting prepared to enter his fourth season with the Jags. He's tallied 122 combined tackles, nine passes defended and five sacks in 32 games.
If the latest ailment forces Ramsey or Colvin to miss any actual game action, the Jags' secondary is going to be stretched thin once again. A.J. Bouye and Doran Grant will serve as the first-team corners with Jalen Myrick likely playing a more prominent role for the time being as well.
Ramsey is a player with a lot of upside. He's the type of playmaker the Jags sorely need in the lineup to help revitalize the defensive backfield. Any type of long-term setback would be a massive problem for the Jacksonville defense.
The Jaguars' veterans are scheduled to report to training camp next Wednesday, July 26.
