Barcelona Transfer News: Latest on Andre Gomes Amid Arda Turan Exit Rumours
Barcelona could reportedly pave the way for the signing of Valencia midfielder Andre Gomes by selling Arda Turan for at least €30 million (£25.5 million).
According to Tomas Andreu in Sport, reports have emerged that Turan is now a target for Borussia Dortmund as they look to replace the outgoing Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and Barca could improve their financial position with the sale of the Turkey international and thus afford to pay €60 million (£51.1 million) for Gomes.
Andreu added that, with Barca's recent purchase of Denis Suarez, they would be covered in the midfield if they sold Turan and brought in Gomes.

Turan only moved to the Camp Nou from Atletico Madrid last summer for £24 million, but previous reports have indicated that the Blaugrana are "ready to give up on [him]," per the Mirror's Ed Malyon.
It would seemingly be premature of Barca to offload the 29-year-old after just a season at the club, especially as the recent FIFA-imposed registration ban meant he could not make his debut for them until January.
While his performances were mixed, Turan did not seem obviously unable to contribute to manager Luis Enrique's side, per Opta:
With a full pre-season under his belt, it is likely Turan could be an asset for Barca in 2016-17, but he may be a casualty of La Liga giants' eagerness to sign Gomes.
While only 22 years old, Gomes is a hugely accomplished central midfielder and has been a key part of Portugal's squad as they advanced to Sunday's Euro 2016 final.
He was one of Valencia's best performers in a disappointing 2015-16 Liga campaign, netting three times and providing three assists in 30 appearances, per WhoScored.com.
See below for some of his highlights:
Gomes has already been a top-flight title winner with former club Benfica and "is seen as the ideal reinforcement in the Blaugrana midfield," per Andreu.
Comfortable on the ball and effective driving forward at opposition defences, Gomes is also a combative midfielder who could be more disciplined at times, per WhoScored:
It is unlikely he would be a regular starter under Enrique immediately if he joined Barca, as Ivan Rakitic, Sergio Busquets and Andres Iniesta are the current midfield trio.
However, he would be a fine purchase for the future, and Barca could put themselves in a position to bring him in if they move Turan on for a good price.
