WWE NXT: Full Preview, Match Card and More for July 6

The Doctor Chris MuellerJul 5, 2016

Welcome to Bleacher Report's preview for this week's episode of WWE NXT, where we'll take a spoiler-free look at what's in store for the developmental brand's upcoming episode.

Wednesday's show will feature only three matches, but when you hear about the main event, you will understand why the card seems so sparse.

The first bout will see former NXT women's champion Bayley going up against Alexa Bliss, a woman looking to win her first championship down the line.

Bliss is coming off a big win over Carmella last week, so she will be looking to build on that momentum by defeating one of the most popular wrestlers on the roster.

Both women have good chances of being called up to the main roster during the draft on July 19, so this could be one of the last opportunities to see them in the developmental system.

Bayley and Bliss are polar opposites when it comes to personality, but they are both willing to take a few risks to make their matches fun, so this should be a good one.

The second bout of the night will feature Wesley Blake and Buddy Murphy taking on Zack Ryder and Mojo Rawley, known collectively as The Hype Bros.

Both of these teams would love to earn a shot at the Tag Team Championships, so a win would go a long way for either duo.

Rawley and Ryder defeated Blake and Murphy during their last encounter on April 27, and if Team BAMF continues to have communication problems, we could see the same result in this bout.

The main event is the real meat and potatoes of this show. American Alpha will challenge The Revival for the Tag Team Championships in a best-of-three Falls match.

It's been just over a month since Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder defeated Jason Jordan and Chad Gable for the titles at NXT TakeOver: The End, so they are looking to prove it wasn't a fluke by retaining.

However, Jordan and Gable won't make it easy. Their exciting style and technical ability make them worthy competitors.

Like Bayley and Bliss, either one of these teams would make a great addition to the main roster, so whoever ends up losing could be drafted to Raw or SmackDown while the champions remain in NXT.

Despite having only three scheduled matches, this should be a great episode based solely on the main event.

Who do you think will leave Wednesday's show as the tag team champions?
