Nick Kyrgios Reacts to Piers Morgan's Tweets After Wimbledon Loss to Andy Murray
Nick Kyrgios is no stranger to criticism thanks to his divisive and often controversial antics on court, but when British broadcaster Piers Morgan took to Twitter during his straight-sets defeat to Andy Murray at Wimbledon on Monday, the Australian decided not to take the barbs lying down.
Morgan criticised the 21-year-old, who lost 7-5, 6-1, 6-4, as he capitulated after Murray came out on top in the first set, and the celebrity discussed his attitude with Australian cricket legend Shane Warne:
Kyrgios reacted poorly to the tweets and responded by telling the TV personality to "eat a d--k:"
Morgan continued the Twitter spat with a reply of his own (Contains NSFW language):
The world No. 18 clearly possesses a great deal of talent and can be a handful for anyone on his day—which makes his poor attitude on court all the more frustrating.
Per Sky Sports' Andy Charles, the Aussie was critical of his own performance and admitted he prepared to face Murray by playing video games rather than training and he doesn't "love this sport."
However, he did express a desire to improve—the onus will now be on him to show a better approach to the game going forward.
