NBA Stars Rally to Face Warriors in 'Independence Day'-Inspired Parody
"We're going to live on. We're going to survive," bellows the voice of President Thomas J. Whitmore—or was it LeBron James?
In this alternate, Independence Day-inspired reality, it's King James rather than the commander in chief rallying the troops.
Their opposition? Something far more formidable than aliens.
The impossibly improved Golden State Warriors—now boasting former NBA MVP Kevin Durant, who announced his decision to join the team on the Players' Tribune on Monday—may prove to have more firepower than any of the NBA's current stars have faced.
Fortunately for the league's remaining 29 squads, LeBron's bullhorn-wielding alter ego has an inspiring solution.
"We will not go quietly into the night," he asserts, perhaps referencing a future evening matchup.
"We will not vanish without a fight," he preaches, possibly drawing upon his recent, historic NBA Finals comeback.
Presiding over a sea of All-Stars, James exhorts unity in the face of adversity.
So, where's the Eastern Conference superteam?
